Organizers want to see a variety of local talent at the auditions for “Bountiful’s Got Talent,” set for April 25, May 2 and May 4 at Discount Music in Bountiful. Though most people who try out are singers or musicians, anyone with an onstage talent is welcome.

“A couple of years ago we had two dancers who were finalists,” said Richard J. Watson, who is helping to organize the show. “If someone wanted to do something new, like comedy, that would be interesting.”

This is the first year that the city has held three potential audition nights. The extra evening was added to give more local hopefuls the chance to show what they can do.

“The interest has become big,” said Watson. “Last year, we had several people call and say they wish they could have made it.”

All three days of the audition will begin at 6 p.m. Participants are required to fill out an application form in advance.  Each audition window will be two minutes long, and all auditions will be judged.

The panel of judges will select a total of 12 finalists, who will perform June 21 at 9 p.m. at the Main Bowery Stage at Bountiful City Park. The top three winners will receive cash prizes, with first place winning $300.

“Even if you’re nervous, come try out anyway,” said Watson. “Everyone else is nervous, too.”
