Auditions for children only in PTC’s productions of A Christmas Carol: The Musical (Music by Alan Menken, composer of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” and “Little Mermaid,” lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and book by Mike Ockrent & Lynn Ahrens) and Les Misérables (written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, and Lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer) will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. Location will be announced later.

Callbacks will be held separately for each show but auditioners will be notified if they are going to be called back for either show by September 10th.

Audition slots from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. are open to all auditioners.

This call is singing only. Children should prepare a traditional musical theatre style song and bring music. An accompanist will be provided. A photo and résumé are recommended.

Auditions for adult roles will be announced at a later date.

Rehearsal dates for A Christmas Carol: The Musical are Monday, November 5, 2012 – Thursday, November 29, 2012; performance dates are November 30, 2012 – December 15, 2012. Artistic Director Karen Azenberg will direct and choreograph the production; Tom Griffen is musical director.

Roles available:
Tiny Tim – age 9-11 acts and sings, voice must be soprano

Grace Smythe – age 9-11, sings

Jonathan – “the Turkey Boy” age 10-13

Young Ebenezer – age 10-12

Ignorance – boy age 7-10

Want – girl age 7-10

Fan/Martha Cratchit – age 13-15

Rehearsal dates for Les Misérables are Monday, April 1, 2013 – Thursday, May 2, 2013; performance dates are May 3, 2013 – June 1, 2013. Former Artistic Director Charles Morey will direct the production, and Artistic Director Karen Azenberg will choreograph.

Roles available:
Young Cosette – age 9-12

Young Eponine – age 9-12

Gavroche – age 9-12
