Dance moms, listen up.

Fresh off another amazing run of Thriller (showing through Nov. 2), Odyssey Dance Theatre is holding auditions for children's show ReduxNut-Cracker, showing Dec. 19–21. 

The show is the company's version of The Nutcracker, set in the present day. The original Tchaikovsky score will be remixed for a pop/hip-hop style. In the show, Clara is drawn into her smartphone, where there's gangsta mice, robot soldiers and Drosselmeyer drives a DeLorean. 

The company is looking for eight boys and girls, age 9–10, who can dance and tumble; nine boys, age 10–12, who can dance jazz and hip hop; and eight girls, ages 10–12, who can dance jazz and hip hop.

Auditions are Friday, Nov. 8 from 6:30–10 p.m. at The Pointe Performing Arts Academy in Highland.

Call backs will be Saturday, Nov. 9 from 3–6 p.m. Dancers should only audition if they can make it to all of the performances and all of the rehearsals, which will be Nov. 15–16, Nov. 23, Dec. 6–7 and Dec. 13–14.
