Attention actors aged 7–12 years old: Utah’s premiere theater company is casting for The Music Man.

Kids are invited to audition for Pioneer Theatre Company’s production of Meredith Wilson’s musical about con man Harold Hill who plans on scamming a naive Iowa town, before falling in love. 

All auditioners will be asked to sing a song from American classical musical theatre. If your kid has what it takes, sign up on the callboard in Room 325 at Pioneer Memorial Theatre, starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 5. Then visit Room 245 on Friday, Dec. 12 for his or her slot, from 3 to 6 p.m. Callbacks are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13. Audition slots are limited to three minutes. A photo and resume are recommended.

Rehearsal dates: April 6–30

Performance dates: May 1–16

Roles: 

Winthrop Paroo, the 10-year-old younger brother of Marion the Librarian.

Amaryliss, 9 to 10 years old, a piano student of Marion’s.

Gracie Shinn, 10- to 12-year-old younger daughter of Mayor Shin.

Additional roles will be available.
