Shooting is scheduled to take place on March 23rd

-          An additional day (March 24th) might be required.

-          Due to a potential issue with funds, shooting may be delayed to April 13th.

Rate: $250 per talent for entire shoot; a full 12-hour day, possible half-day

Synopsis: A short narrative drama about a father and son on a ranch who must put down their suffering horse. It’s the father’s intentions of having his son pull the trigger as an example of facing life’s inevitable hardships.

Joe

-          A male in their late-30s to 40s

-          Joe is the father who wishes for his son to put down their sick horse. His reasoning is that he’d like to give his son an example of facing an uncomfortable hardship and taking initiative. He is well intended, but oblivious to how forward he is. In the end, he realizes his mistake when his son shoots the horse and is clearly distraught.

Travis

-          A male from 12-15 years of age

-          Travis is Joe’s son. He is clearly upset about putting down the horse and has a strong emotional connection to it. He is forced into shooting the horse, despite how visibly uncomfortable and unconfident he is. Afterward, he is shaken, which makes his father realize his mistakes.

IMPORTANT: This film contains dialogue, but there is very little of it. We would like the talent to prepare a monologue for their audition. If possible, actors auditioning for Travis should arrive between 12:30-3:00pm and Joe between 3:00-5:30pm.
