STORY LINE:  The disappearance of AVA at age 15 still haunts younger sister, MEGG, who, with great reservations, returns home (fifteen years later) for the funeral of her abusive stepfather...

SHORT SYNOPSIS: When the bracelet of her long missing sister arrives in the mail, Megg is compelled to return and search out the horrors of a hometown that holds the deadly secrets of a serial killer who has never been found.

ROLES: 

[CARL ANDREWS] 30ish, All ethnicities, handsome in a craggy sort of way, he is the Police Chief in Megg's old hometown, the guy she had a crush on in her youth.  Take-charge, with a way of putting others at ease, he is the single dad of young Aiden.  Currently investigating a string of murders involving young women, he is frustrated and saddened by Megg's request that he take another look at her sister's disappearance.  He explains to Megg that the new "evidence" she's brought him is not enough for him to revisit a 15-year-old case.  Later, a very capable Carl steps up to the plate when events take a turn for the dangerous...LEAD

[JAKE KRAMER] 40, Caucasian, a former jackass, now a charmer, all spit and polish, he is Megg and Brian's stepbrother.  The town Mayor, with political aspirations, hoping to make a bid for the Senate, he is a self-important jerk, not pleased to have his step-siblings back in the picture. He's got a terrible and dark secret, not about to risk sabotaging his future, or let anyone else ruin it for him...LEAD (27)

[KAREN KRAMER] 30s, Caucasian, mousy and maudlin, she is Bob's daughter, stepsister to Megg and Brian.  Married to an older man, the mother of three kids, Karen has been living with intolerable stress, the keeper of a dark and horrible secret.  She tells her brother she wants to come clean, only to have him turn on her with a vicious and chilling fury...LEAD (18) 

[DUSTY KRAMER] 20s, Caucasian, good looking, earnest and eager, he is a local cop, Jake's son.  Dusty is a "good kid, a little wet behind the ears, but mean well."  He's eager to prove himself, full of bravado, particularly when it comes to impressing his pretty girlfriend, Ronnie.  Oblivious to the events of the past, unaware of his father's part in a child's disappearance, Dusty is unnerved by a drawing Megg brings to the station...LEAD (21)

[YOUNG JAKE KRAMER] 18, Caucasian, skinny and sly, this is Jake as a youth, the son of Bob Kramer.  A jackass, with a bone-headed sense of entitlement, and a real mean streak, he is very much like his father, but lacking in the machismo department.  He torments young Ava, who flees his advances...LEAD (12)

[YOUNG MEGG DANIELS] 8 -10, Caucasian, Seen in flashback, this is Megg at age 8, a petite tomboy who has a good relationship with her brother, Brian, and looks up to her big sister, Ava.  She's a sweet, imaginative child, well aware of the tension in the house, happy to have allies in her siblings.  Young Megg is devastated by Ava's disappearance...LEAD (1)

[YOUNG BRIAN] 7-9, Caucasian, Seen in flashback, this is Brian at age 9, an all-American kid and Young Megg's best buddy.  He, too, is keenly aware of the tension in the home, but unaware of the extent of the abuse...SUPPORTING LEAD (9)

[ED] 50s, All ethnicities, uptight and demanding, he is a mortician, Karen's husband, usually impenetrable.  However, his plastic veneer begins to crack when Karen goes missing...1 speech & 12 lines, 2 scenes (26)

[MERT] 60s, All ethnicities, grizzled and grumpy, he is Ronnie's grandfather, also Bob's hunting buddy.  He's incensed when he arrives at Bob's funeral and Dusty stops him for having expired tags on his car...3 speeches & 7 lines, 1 scene (21)
