The University of Utah Department of Film & Media Arts announces a casting call
for this year’s Advanced Student Film Productions. 

Auditions will be held on Saturday, December 7th, from 9:00am-5:30pm in the Art Building, Room 271.  Art Bldg is #38, link to the campus map is here http://www.map.utah.edu/?WT.svl=map_topnav

Actors of all experience levels are welcome. 

Prepared monologues are preferred, 1–2 minutes in length, but cold readings will be available.

we are more specificaly looking for these characters for the Advanced Production Class:

  • Joey (18 to 20 year-old male) - Shy, high school aged boy who undergoes hypnotherapy.
  • Dr. Watson (45-55 year-old male) - Overbearing therapist who attempts to change Joey.
  • Mother (40-45 year-old female) - Socially visible mother of Joey. 
  • Liam (18 to 20 year-old male) - High school aged boy who shares a relationship with Joey. 
  • Father (40-45 year-old male) - Reserved father of Joey.
Jayla (19-22 female) - The heart of the group, full of love and cuddles, but is a little slow to the uptake. She always means well.  She plays keyboard.
Alexa (19-22 female) - The Straight-man, leader of the band trying to keep them on track (mediator). Singer, Bass player. Curvy.
Phee (19-22 female) -  A dead-pan, wild card. Not subtle. A lesbian. Plays drums.
Rudy (19-22 female) - The grump. Guitar player.  Always getting on people's case for getting weird but oft' ends up being the weirdest one herself. She is Asian-American.
Stanlee: male, 18 to 22 years old,  Short, a little muscular, light brown to blond hair, angry, nerdy, out spoken, flustered.  Preferably around 5 feet tall, but can be taller.
San Fran: Female, 19 to 22, trashy, preferably smoker, glasses, foul mouthed,
Mr. Hoax: male,  40s to 60s, preferably mid 50s, Very charming, entrepreneur, bubbly, but with a dark side, able to be charismatic as well as sinister. Actor should have strong command of language. A shakespearian history is good.
Edmund: male, 18 to 22, brown hair, tall, thin, smug, condescending, but kind, eloquent
