Upcoming Auditions

The Grand Theatre will hold auditions for "Oliver!" on Saturday, June 5 from 10: 00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Grand Theatre rehearsal room on the 2nd floor located at 1575 South State Street in Salt Lake City.

Children's auditions are from 10: 00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. with adult auditions from 12: 00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. All roles are open.

Adult actors should be prepared to sing 16 bars of a musical theatre piece and learn a dance combination. Youth actors will learn a song and dance combination as a group. Especially needed are boys. All actors must bring a current headshot, and resumes are highly recommended. All conflicts need to be made known at time of audition. Anne Stewart Mark is directing with Kevin Mathie as music director.

About the Show:
"Oliver!," one of the most beloved musicals and winner of many Tony and Academy awards for the original production and 1968 film, vividly brings to life Dickens' timeless characters with its ever-popular story of the boy who asked for more. Featuring such well-known songs as "Food, Glorious Food," "Consider Yourself," "Where Is Love?" and "As Long as He Needs Me."

Performance dates: October 6-23, 2010
Times: Evening performances 7:30pm (no Monday, Tuesday or Sundays), Saturday matinees 2:00pm on October 9 and 16, 2010.

Auditions are generally held in the green room, located at the back of the building. Most auditions do not require any preparation; actors will be asked to read from the script. However, exceptions are noted below.
