Seeking female model to appear in promotional web video for a whiskey brand. Model must be petite enough to fit comfortably on a pool table to act as the 'obstacle' for a trick shot artist (see pic).

Shooting date is Fri 3-28 during the day. Exact times and location TBD, but the shoot will take place in a local pool hall and the length of time you'll be needed would be up to 4 hours.

Casting Specs
The overall idea with the casting is (probably as usual) genuine personality. We need
some real characters in these spots. This really should trump appearance in many
respects (but not all - see below). The scripts are very short and simple so each kid’s
unique smirk, wince or smile is going to be what makes these enjoyable. Of the seven
different kids we are looking to cast having a least two or three who are of some other
ethnic background besides caucasian would be ideal.

Blender: Teenage girl 14-16 years of age. This girl should have some sass. Actually she
should mostly be mostly made of sass. She should have a cuteness about her but not
necessarily ‘pretty’. Must operate small kitchen appliances.

Dumbbell: Boy about 13 years old. Good looking kid but completely devoid of muscle
mass. When you look at this wispy kid you wonder how he moves around without
muscles. Puberty will show up in a couple of years and make this kid a contender with
the young ladies.

Unicycle: This should be a boy, younger, in the 12 to 13 year old range. Rides a
unicycle - what more needs to be said?

Pull-up: Again another boy in the 13-14 year old range who isn’t a precocious athlete.
Not wiry like our kid in Dumbbell. Perhaps average or slightly heavier body type. He’s
gonna be doing a pull-up. That’s the idea right there: just one pull-up.

Footwork: Teenage girl. Actually teenage skater girl. Anywhere from 13-16 years old.
A decent skateboarder who loves it. We really don’t need to lean into a classic
stereotype here - we don’t need her to beat anyone up. At least that I’m aware of. Body
type isn’t as important as a love of skateboarding. Did I mention skateboarding..?

Ketchup: This again could be either a boy or girl in the 13 to 16 year old range. This
spot will be made totally by a single facial expression. After making a huge chicken
breast sandwich piled high with veggies the camera will follow the sandwich to his or
her face. A face with wide eyes, wider mouth and full of anticipation. A face that is then
eclipsed by a sandwich which won’t fit in any mouth anywhere.

Beauty: A teenage girl 13-15 years old that has a sort of classical beauty. Preferably
with hair that is at least shoulder length.

The script placed as a quarter-finalist in the Richmond International Film Festival Screenwriting Competition (Shorts category). In addition to writing the script, I will be producing and directing it as my senior thesis film to complete my BFA in Cinema Production, with the possibility of producing a feature down the road. As it stands right now, this is an unpaid, non-union production, although that may potentially change at some point during the production process. All cast and crew will receive copy, credit, meals, demo reel cut, invitation to the world premiere, and sincere gratitude for their participation in this project. Additionally, my goal is to generate exposure for the cast and crew (and Las Vegas film community) by submitting this film to multiple festivals upon completion, budget permitting.

So, what can you do to be involved?

3 – AUDITION!! We are looking for lots of people for this production. All ages, heights, races, builds, looks, etc. are welcome to audition. There are several speaking parts, and lots of roles for non-speaking talent, ranging from tweens to mature adults. So if you are interested and available, please, please, please attend our auditions! Also, even if you are not selected for this production, we have several upcoming films that you may be considered for.

For those of you interested in speaking roles, here are the character briefs:

LEILANI (FEMALE LEAD), early 20s, combines inner and outer beauty. Her long dark hair accents her petite build. Despite the weight of life’s hardships, her effervescent demeanor shines. Leilani is a struggling college student who cares for her younger brother Kean, following the loss of their parents. Things are about to take an odd twist as Leilani unknowingly crosses paths with a diamond thief. There are NO sex scenes or nudity, but the actress who plays Leilani must be willing to kiss the actor who portrays Kane. Also, martial arts experience is HIGHLY PREFERRED for this role. Please prepare a brief choreographed routine and be prepared to perform it at auditions.

KANE (MALE LEAD), mid-20s to mid-30s, is both a good guy and a bad guy. While he could be good, there is something dark and mysterious about him. His handsome features contradict his dark side, while his attractive qualities appeal to Leilani. There are NO sex scenes or nudity, but the actor who plays Kane must be willing to kiss the actress who portrays Leilani.

KEAN (MINOR/SUPPORTING MALE), 11-14, has pale skin that betrays his innocent youth, as leukemia fights him from the inside out.

KAYLA (MINOR/SUPPORTING FEMALE), 16 – 20, babysits Kean from time to time. Energetic and sympathetic, she does her best to entertain him and brighten his numbered days.

CHIEF (MARTIAL ARTS) INSTRUCTOR (MINOR ROLE), 35+, Male or Female. Martial Arts experience IS NOT REQUIRED for this role. Ideally, this is an actor who looks tough, but can be gentle and soft-spoken.

POLICE DETECTIVE (MINOR ROLE), 35+, Male or Female. There are few, if any, specifications for this role. The Police Chief could be a burly character who has worked his/her way up through the ranks, a tired-looking character worn down by the stress of the job, or a diplomatic-type with the look of a dignitary.

L.A.-based filmmaker seeking 6 actors for a comedic short film that will be shot in Ogden, Utah on April 5 & 6, or possibly April 19 & 20.

 

Synopsis: The film is a comedy about two characters in a cruddy slasher film who decide to rebel against the filmmakers because they can't stand the thought of being in another uninspired Hollywood horror movie.  The film satirizes the recycled nature of the horror genre, as well as the industry's addiction to remakes, reboots, and adaptations of old TV shows, board games, theme park rides, comic books and toy brands.

 

Purpose: The short will be in the style of a movie trailer and it will be used as a visual aide to help shop a feature film script around to different producers, production companies and investors in Los Angeles. 

 

Characters that need to be cast:

Victim One, mid-20s - early 30s: He is the catalyst for all the craziness that transpires in the film.  He is the Abbott to Victim Two's Costello.  Taller/leaner build.   Brown hair.

Victim Two, mid-20s - early 30s: He is recruited by Victim One to help rebel against the filmmakers.  He is the Costello to Victim One's Abbott.  Shorter/stockier build.  Brown hair.

Jackie, early 20s - early 30s: Lea Thompson-esque girl-next-door.  Brunette.  The "Scream Queen" character.  

Jill, early 20s - early 30s: Bubbly, cheerleader-type.  Girl-next-door.  Blonde. 

Todd, early 20s - early 30s: Jackie's boyfriend.  Student Body President-type.  Sandy brown hair.  Not a jock.

Scott, early 20s - early 30s: Jill's boyfriend.  Wants desperately to be like Todd, but falls a little bit short.  Brown hair. 

 

Victim One and Victim Two will be needed for both shoot days.   Rate: $250.00

Jackie, Jill, Todd and Scott will shoot on April 5th.   Rate: $200.00
