You may audition for one or both shows.

LIVE ORCHESTRA
Each performance of THE LAST 5 YEARS will be accompanied by a live six-piece orchestra under direction of Anne Puzey. The orchestra will include two cellos, bass, guitar, and violin.

ABOUT THE SHOW
An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The show’s unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.
Composer Jason Robert Brown based his writing off of his failed marriage to actress Theresa O'Neill. He used the idea of rarely having the two characters interact and using one to tell the relationship story backwards to compare each moment when the characters are at their best and worst.

CONTENT
Utah Rep will produce THE LAST 5 YEARS as the author intended, with no editorial cuts. Music Theatre International, which licenses all productions of the show, lists the show as rated PG.

(A very small number of scripts have two versions: the orignal text as the authors wrote and a second version that has been edited with authors' approval. It is a policy of Utah Rep to honor the author's text as written. Any effort to intentionally obliterate a word/lyric without permission from licensing company is in violation of performance contracts.

Idaho-The Bullet Film-Will be in Festivals! all ages

I have a film project that is coming up. Auditions are in September, but it is a warm read so I need to have interested parties contact me so they can get audition materials...it is a non-paying project but will be placed into many film festivals...so your clients would have the opportunity for exposure...If you could send a notice it would be appreciated,, here are the details. 

Clear as Mudd Films will be holding auditions for the upcoming feature length film, entitled: "The Bullet." An intense drama that follows a group of High School Seniors on their path to self discovery. The film examines the harsh realities of teenage bullying and hazing, sexual identity, teenage romance, and violence. The Auditions will be held on September 13th from 10:00am-1:00pm and September 20th from 10:00am-4:30pm. The reason we are announcing them this early is so auditioners will have ample time to go over the audition sides that are sent to them. This audition works as a "Warm-Read" so you will get materials ahead of time and be asked to read and show characterization at the audition. Auditions are by appointment...we will accept walk-ins but someone with a set appointment time will take priority.

The Bullet- Character List

Kevin Shepherd- Male (16-25) Kevin is an average high school senior who is obsessed with comic books. He created his own superhero “The Bullet” and draws his own comics. He tends to be called a “hipster” and definitely has that look about him. He is a compassionate person and good friend. He is emotional, but laid back. Kevin's motivation is being someone that his peers will remember when he leaves high school. Kevin is bullied, but tends to shrug that pressure off. 

Tim Anderson- Male (16-25) Tim is a loner. He is bullied by the other students, relentlessly. Tim is gay, but remains in the closet. No one knows his secret aside from his best and only friend, Kevin. Tim is emotional, angry and slightly violent. Hr has a “goth” or “emo/scene” look. 

Jennifer Grey- Female (16-25) Jennifer is one of Kevin's best friends and is deeply in love with him. She is the student body president at the school and a straight A student. She is quiet and reserved, but strong willed and possess amazing inner beauty and compassion. She has a “nerd-sheik” appearance. 

Derek Thomas- Male (16-25) Derek is the school's most talented athlete as well as its biggest bully. He gives most of the other students hell and doesn't let up. He is a violent and angry person as well as extremely narcissistic. Should have a “jock” look. 

Carrie Hess- Female (16-25) Carrie is Jennifer's best friend. She is on the cheer leading squad at school. Carrie has a kind, nurturing personality...and the kind of person nobody could dislike. She is empathetic and sweet. 

Gabe- Male (25+) Gabe is a “homeless” man that owns the comic book store. He acts as the comic relief and muse to Kevin Shepherd throughout the story. In the end he turns out to be his guardian angel.

Ashley Benedict- Female (16-25) Ashley is the captain of the cheer leading squad and the most popular girl in school. She has a frigid personality and is not really nice to people who aren't in her inner circle. , to those who are she shows a more flirtatious and carefree side of herself. 

Carl Harbringer- Male (16-25) Carl is the best friend of Derek. He too is a very talented Athlete. But also one of the school bullies. He is very loyal to Derek and any enemy of Derek's is also an enemy of Carl's, and vice versa. Should have an athletic and slightly 'redneck' appearance and accent.

Steve Clemens- Male (16-25) Steve is the starting pitcher on the school's baseball team. He hangs out with the jocks, but does not participate in bullying. He is also the love interest of Tim. He should have a 'pretty boy' look.

Coach Danvers- Male (35+) Coach Danvers is the coach of the school's baseball team. He should be a bigger man. He has a mouth on him and doesn't treat the students or other teachers with much respect....his only care is winning. 

Ms. Singletary Female (35+) Ms. Singletary is the School's principal. And she isn't a very good one. She doesn't listen to her struggling students. Especially Tim. She has a short fuse and isn't very pleasant to be around. 


Nikki Mortenson- Female (16-25) Nikki is a cheer leader and one of Ashely's friends. 

Susie Whitmore- Female (16-25) Susie is a cheer leader and one of Ashley's friends. 

James Porter- Male (40+) James is the father of Lewis. He is a former serviceman with PTSD and a bit of an alcohol problem. He is abusive and negligent of his only son. 

Karen Shepherd- Female (40+) Karen is Kevin's mother. She has raised her son alone, as her husband, Kevin's father was killed in Iraq in 2004. She has to hold 2 full time jobs to provide for her and her son. She has a kind, nurturing personality. 

Scuzz- The bassist in Adam's band. Stoner-type character.

Spliff- The Drummer in Adam's band. Stoner-type character.

Extras- all ages Our extras will be very important to the success of this film. There are many, multiple parts available for extras...most will get to play more than one character and be in multiple scenes. There are, cheer leaders, baseball players, various students in school scenes and the dance, fans at the baseball game. If cast as an extra you will be crucial part of making this film as good as it can be...so don't be discouraged.

His first week back in Vegas, Jackson's best friend and comedy manager, Phil, informs him he is a candidate in a major TV network's talent search. Desperate to make a name for himself, Jackson agrees to hit the road in the hopes of capturing new sets to submit to the producers. Disappointed at him leaving again, and frustrated at his lack of commitment to anything but his comedy, Natalia begins to question their future together. Synopsis: “Remnants” is a science fiction film about the last of mankind trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Forced to adjust to this new world; some have already adapted, while others struggle."


Character BIOS

“STRANGER” – Male: 25-50
Lead Character. Protagonist. Loner and Drifter. Wife was killed years back, has been in auto-pilot ever since. Crack shot with a gun, likes to keep things simple, deep voice. Feels responsible for others well-being.

“GIRL” – Female…: 20s-30s
Lead Character. Our MacGuffin. She is filling in a gap for the Strangers life. She looks like a normal woman, but when under pressure she rises up. She is also a bit mysterious.

“BOSS” – Male: 40s-60s
Lead Character. Antagonist. Sophisticated and enjoys the finer things. He looks like the jerk boss you would have that dresses in the best suit every day. It has to be his way, or else. Trying to capture the Girl.

JOSH – Male: 20-50s
Supporting Character. Leader of a group of survivors. A much larger person. Protective, a nice guy.

RION – Female: 20-40s
Supporting Character. 2nd in command of the group of survivors. Tries to be open minded to others.

“KID” – Male or Female: 7-14
Supporting Character. Little Thief.

DOC – Male or Female: 20-60
Supporting Character. Doctor that has an attitude, “Dr. McCoy”

OLD MAN – Male: 40s-70s
Supporting Character. Sickly old man trying to overcome a disease, but tries to stay charismatic.

BANDITS (7) – Males and Females: 18-30s
Supporting Roles. 7 Bandits that all have lines. Elaborate personalities. Your Bandits, what more can I say?
