How to prepare/what to bring:

1. Practice: Pay close attention to your eyes, actions and overall tone. You will want to sound upbeat and enthusiastic.
2. Side/script: "Hi/hello, my name is [name here]. Thank you for checking us out. You've found the premier website for professional, high quality video hosts. We know that a website host or talking person like me increases sales and conversion on your website. I can be used in other marketing as well. I can say anything you'd like me to say and can dress just about any way you like. Click on the order button now and ask for [name here]. I'd love to be the spokesperson for your organization. Remember I'm [name here], and have a great day."
3. Optional script: Bring an optional 30-60 second additional side/script. Make sure the side/script tells who you are and why a company would benefit by choosing you for their website or other production. Talk about your talents, skills and interests if you speak a foreign language, have skills in accents, etc.
4. Optional Costume(s): Bring 1 or more changes of dress to show how your style/look can change:

Nora (18), introverted, a wiz with computers. Obsessed with the death of her brother, who was killed fighting for the military overseas. She takes karate, so she is physically tough. This is the main role in the film, and it is very demanding. It requires an actress who is versatile enough to start out quiet and meek, and end up confident, kick-butt and self-assured. 

Ted (40s-50s), football coach and computer lab teacher at Nora's school. He is Nora's confidant. He also coached her brother, Kyle, when he went to school there. 

Helen (40s-50s), Nora and Kyle's mother. Copes with her son's death by developing a slow-burning case of alcoholism. Emotionally distant from Nora. 

Lily (late 20s-30s), Assistant Principal of the school Nora attends. 

Kyle (18), Nora's brother. Popular kid, does well in school and is active in sports. Whereas Nora struggles to be accepted in life, things seem to come naturally to Kyle. After graduating, he enlists in the military and is killed in action. Has always been Nora's hero.   

Al (mid 30s), police officer who leads a solitary life and does so in order to conceal his involvement in illicit activities. 

Dr. Scheinman (60s), Nora's family therapist.

The Utah Repertory Theater Company is holding open auditions for both CAROUSEL and WHAT THE BELLHOP SAW on Wednesday, March 20 from 6-10 at the Murray Theater (4959 South State Street. Murray, UT). Call backs will be on 3/23 (Sat) at the Murray Theater.

All roles in both productions are open except for the role of Billy in CAROUSEL will be played by Kevin Goertzen.

We will not begin rehearsing for CAROUSEL until June.

Prepare a 1 minute comedic monologue if you are auditioning for BELLHOP only and a 32 measure golden age musical theater selection (a song from the show is ok to audition with) if you are auditioning for CAROUSEL or both if you are auditioning for both shows.

WHAT THE BELLHOP SAW will be directed by Chase Ramsey

CAROUSEL will be directed by Johnny Hebda, with choreography by Cooper Howell and music direction by Melissa Thorne.

New Line Cinema and S&K Pictures in association with Big Kid Pictures are in pre-production on a new sequel in the "National Lampoon's Vacation" franchise. This new film will begin shooting June 17, 2013 in New Mexico and Atlanta, GA. The Primetime Emmy award winning casting director is conducting a national talent search for young talent for several lead roles in the film. Being cast are two boys between 9-15 years of age to play the Griswold boys, Ed Helms' kids. Also being cast is a pretty teen girl between the ages of 13-17. Synopsis
This student-produced commercial spec, "Timeless" is a spot for the esteemed and classic lifestyle clothing line, Ted Baker. In the spot, a man leaves for a night with his date in four different time periods. Because this is a fashion spot, we are looking for models and actors, or anyone who fits somewhere in between, at least for the main parts (the man and the different women).


Character Bios
MAN, Age: 22-30, Black or Hispanic
The starring man is the lead character of our spot, and he is medium-tall, between skinny and athletic, and has a classic ("Timeless") face.


WOMEN, 22-30, (Any race, any hair color/style/length)
Skinny (ish, just come!) Four different actresses will play the same character at different times in the spot. We are looking for women who can fit into the time periods like the 40's, 50's, 60's, and now.
