Las Vegas-Film "After" -Copy Meals many roles!!

 Filmmakers, a group of local filmmakers that have come together to make films and create a vibrant, active independent filmmaking community, are producing a short film titled AFTER.  We are currently in preproduction and have scheduled a casting call that will serve to cast the film.  We make short films, commercials, music videos, and participate in the 48hour Film challenge and like events.

To audition for a role in AFTER, or to audition to be included in our database of actors, we ask that actors:

·  Prepare a 1-2 minute monologue from any published work.

·  Be prepared to cold read from AFTER, our short film script.

You do not need a headshot or resume.  A form for your contact information and acting experience will be provided at the audition. A photograph of you will be taken as well.  We will film both the monologue and the cold reading part of the audition. Please avoid any distracting elements in your clothing when auditioning. Synopsis:
“After” is science fiction short film that centers on the concept of trust in a world that has been forever altered by a catastrophic event. DRIFTER, a survivor in his early forties, is hunting the deer that roam the streets when he hears Emily's cries.  Though the world is now a dangerous, empty place, these two will form a bond and learn to trust one another.

Before the event, Emily was a proud mother of two children, married to a construction supervisor, and involved in running and a strong social life.  Now she is a lonely, destitute woman, struggling to understand what has happened to the world, where her children are, and how to trust anyone in this new reality with which

Drifter is a survivor, a loner, an ancient Spartan at heart. He has honed his skills in hunting, fighting and killing, and he somehow finds the will to live after the event. He has lost someone dear to him and finds it difficult to trust anyone now. But he takes a leap of faith and begins to help Emily, hoping for some reprieve to his lonely existence.

Tools often has good intentions, and he wants recognition for what he does for his group, but he is not willing to lead and remains a follower at heart.  He knows how to survive, and running is his number one skill.  Cowardice is something dead people talk about according to him, and he has no problem seeing himself alive if it means his friends must die.

[BOOTS] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 20-60]

Boots doesn't take orders from many people, least of all, those he feels are subordinate to him.  He uses his physical prowess to intimidate those around him into letting him have his way, and he is used to playing the leader, though he is inept in most things he attempts.  His most prized possession are his boots, which he has stolen from countless places and people.

[JAMES] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 8-10]

James is Emily's only male child.  He is a normal kid who loves playing at war and annoying his sister, Sylvia.

[SYLVIA] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 11-13]

Sylvia is a typical teenage girl, more interested in what her Vine, Snapchat and Twitter have to offer than any real person.  Her brother, James, is often the bane of her existence and she often don't see why her mother is so mean.

This is in an office park complex, just off the I-215 at Decatur on the south side of the valley. Exit at Decatur and head south, turn RIGHT onto Badura, then RIGHT onto Edmond Street. Turn left into the office park complex with TWO buildings. It is the building at the west end of the lot. Enter through the front doors and go up to the third floor. Look for the DSLR Filmmakers sign in the lobby that will direct you to the green room for sign in.

The side of the building that you can see going west on the 215 says SWITCH in red and black letters, but the buildings themselves only have the address on the side you can see from the lot.

Utah-Male 17-20 LDS casting paying!

First off – a big “Thank you” to those who came and auditioned yesterday for the Bully Mormon Message. The director remarked how professional everyone was and how impressed he was with their preparation. Now, I am back with a new request! He would like some more guys to consider before a casting decision is made. Specifically, we are looking for some good actors who could play PAUL or TREY. These actors can be older, as long as they can play 17-18. In the director’s words, he would like these guys to look like they just stepped off of the cover of the New Era Magazine. These 2 guys are clean cut and good, but have made some poor decisions when it comes to having fun at the expense of others. Paul makes that realization during his last line when his little sister is targeted by bullies in the attached audition side. These roles will pay well with rates to be set based on experience.

Tony:  Male, Black, 30’s, Stand-up comedian.  He is a bike messenger who befriends Wes at the comedy club.  Cool, quick-witted, friendly.  Think Kevin Hart.  Good comedic timing.  SUPPORTING LEAD 

Reid:  Male, Caucasian, 50’s-60’s, business professional, Office curmudgeon.  He hates his job and wife but will never get a divorce.  He lives at the office to avoid going home.  He is blunt and kind of crusty at times but very likable.  Good comedic timing.  SUPPORTING LEAD

Judith:  Female, Caucasian, 30’s- 40’s, business professional.  She is quirky, artistic, creative, and used to be a ballerina dancer-so she is very graceful.   She loves the arts but is trapped in a business professional body.  She is doing a different accent in every scene.  Good comedic timing.  MUST BE ABLE TO DO MULTIPLE ACCENTS.  SUPPORTING LEAD

Nicki:  Female, Caucasian, 20’s, Assistant at consulting firm.  She is super cute, fun, and thin.  Sometimes she acts like a 14 year old tomboy, which is the opposite of how she looks.  Good comedic timing. SUPPORTING LEAD

Brian:  Male, Caucasian, 30’s, nerdy technology professional.  He is overweight, sloppy, nerdy, and an all-around nice guy.  He has a treadmill desk and is always trying to lose weight but to no avail.  He has a huge crush on Nicki and tries to impress her but is awkward when he tries.  Good comedic timing.  SUPPORTING LEAD 

Jennifer:  Female, Caucasian, 30’s, Wes’ wife.  She is very pretty and likes nice things- trips to Europe, remodeling the kitchen every 2 years, etc.  She is extremely uptight!  She is not very supportive of Wes’ dreams of becoming a comedian.  Good comedic timing.  SUPPORTING 

Enrique:   Male, Hispanic, 50’s, Wes’ boss.  He is the president of the consulting firm and is always trying to make everyone work harder and threatens to fire those who don’t.  He is “the man” and knows it.  DAYPLAYER- RECURRING

Matt:  Male, Any Ethnicity, 40’s-50’s, Runs a big corporation.  He is upset because Wes’ firm did not deliver contract within the deadline.  DAYPLAYER- POSSIBLY RECURRING
