I'm shooting a low-budget short on Feb 8-9 in the Provo/Orem area. I've heard great things about Craze and I wanted to ask if you'd be in a position to help me find my cast.

We are holding a casting session this Sat., Jan 25 in Salt Lake City, Ut 84115, and we'd love to have your talent audition. We are looking for the characters of Gabe, Marie, and David. Would you be able to send us individuals at these times: 12:00pm, 12:10am, 12:20am, 12:30am, 12:40am, 12:50am
 Later that evening we will be holding an open casting session from 3-5:30pm, so feel free to let me know if you have anybody else you'd like to audition during that time for any of the other parts included in the breakdown. Then, from 5:30-6pm, we'll be open to meet people for background actors.

Note, right now our main character, Gabe, is a boy, and will likely stay that way...unless of course you have an amazing young actress who can convince me to change the main character's gender.

 It's a non-union shoot. Payment for David, Gabe and Marie characters are $75/day. One meal/day. Non-paying for the rest of the characters. Logline: A boy discovers how secrets pull his family apart.

Marie 30-yrs-old. Book smart. Loyal. Self-conscious about what pregnancy has done/is doing to
the parts of her body only her husband sees.
Dana 24-27-yrs-old. Vivacious. Spunky. Fit. Works full-time at a toy store until she she can do
dancing full-time.
Little Girl in bookstore 7-yrs-old. Unaware that anyone can see her eating her own boogers, or
if they did, that it would even matter.

Casting auditions will be Sunday, January 26 at The Grove Hotel, Room 214.  Address 245 S Capitol Blvd.  From 1pm to 6pm.  We will be shooting sometime in May or June.  The Movie will be a thriller, mixed in with some comedy. It’s about a group of friends that go camping and this guy runs into them who is being chased by two other guys, so they must try and get away before the guys get them. We don’t have a lot of money so if they want to be part of this they will receive little to no money, but we will provide some food while shooting, and we will be entering this into festival(s).

The producers have brought in a NAME actor from LA for the role of Mr. Mumford.  We are excited that this will bring more visibility to the project and, hopefully, open up more possibilities for your actors to be seen on a larger scale.

STORY LINE: A series that is a cross-discipline-social-media-rich-experience, where characters in high school have “real” online portfolios and their hi-jinx and lives are captured and posted across all social media channels.  High school students getting caught up in hot tub hopping or accomplishing crazy acts in other peoples’ tubs.  The storyline becomes about the characters.  Think “Freaks and Geeks”

 

Character Breakdown:

 

Lead: (Reagan LeadBetter) 16+ to play 15.  Hyper Average – quick-whitted but reference is often lost (too technical or obscure for friends).  Dad owns a promo products/printing shop and he knows how to create t-shirts or other paraphernalia designed items.  (silk screener)

 

 

Sidekick: (Dub - Short for Dub-yah; Walker) 16+ to play 15.  Cooler kids by looks only, extremely naïve.  Regurgitates info that he picks up on, usually never understands, or doesn’t know the entire reference.   Cool kids tolerate him because his super cool older brother has told everyone he’s mentally challenged, thus making most peers sympathetic to his “condition”

 

 

CameraMan: (Arri - short for Arristotle) 16+ to play 15.  Sage/ wise beyond years and voice of reason (mumble core/soft-spoken) genius, hacker, knows everything tech and computers.  Has tremendous trouble relating to people, thus stays behind the camera most of the time.   He is mainly heard not seen.

 

 

Hot Girl: (Bridge - Cambridge Windsor) 16+ to play 15.  A-typical bombshell but smart, very smart – keeps her vast intelligence hidden because of the way her father speaks about smart women – “they’re all lesbian liberals.  Probably played softball in high school.”  Dancer. All the kids in the family are named after Ivy League schools- Brother: Stanford, Adopted Brother: Brown.  Lead guy has crush on her as does the art teacher, she is in love with a typical jock.  (Love triangle)

 

A-Typical Jock: (Pal - Palmer Mitchell) 16+ to play 16-17.  Looks like A-typical jock, however, he is the Mascot and nobody knows that’s the “sport” he plays.   He wears a letter jacket and looks like the captain of the football team, and probably could be, but is not.   Nice to everyone, very sincere to even the geeks.  Always refers to his sport as practice, or being on the field.  The Main character thinks he is the captain of the football team because they never go to the games or never notice the quarterback without his helmet.

I am in need of some actors to shoot February 1st for a web series we are working on.. No audition required, I just need commitment. We also need a person who speaks Spanish fluently. The commercial will consist of each person saying one line of dialogue.
