SYNOPSIS

Remedial Algebra: Brandon, a misfit high school student, tries to make sense

of the world with the help of friends and monsters – both real and imaginary.

Episode 1 – Round One... Fight!: Brandon sketches monsters which fight each

other in his notebook. This attracts the attention of the students sitting next to

him in Remedial Algebra.

LEADS:

Brandon Blackledge: Male, 16-18, any ethnicity, bad hair cut, awkward, very

goofy. A loner from a poor family, adrift in his own world.

Ryan “Gummy” Nelson: Male, 16-18, any ethnicity, punk-rocker. Wild hair, edgy

These production companies film music videos, lives sports, films--shorts, narratives, features, commercials, industrials, etc. Please message for time slot to come to open call. My name is Autumn Gehring and I am looking to cast for my show: Growing Up: College Style

We also have a Facebook page and actively participate in nerd events around salt lake. For example, we met George Takei at the fan-ex pre event.

A college student at Weber State University must complete a final project for his film major. He decides to film the life of NS-The Nerd Squad-his college group-compiling his findings into "TV Show" style episodes mimicking "The Office" and "Modern Family".

This show is about a group of adults attending college. Girl drama mixed comedy and ultimate nerdiness show no matter how smart you are or how much college you've attended, you're never completely grown up.

Follow these students as one is convinced their house is haunted, another takes the group on the oddest photo shoot ever, one young girl unwillingly becomes sucked into the Twilight obsession; pulling 3 all nighters to finish the series, and even a MarioKart Madness to replace the ever so popular March Madness. You'll laugh, cry, and everything
in between!

This project will shoot on weekends starting mid September. We do not have a budget right now but we will feed our actors. If the show goes well we can get a budget going forward; this project has room to grow.

Character Breakdown

Lindsey-she is the youngest in her family, not going to school, unemployed, while her mom and dad pay all her bills and send her $100 every week. But that is still not enough money. She is 18 years old.

Taylor-she is in her late 20's with short, blonde hair and is the ultimate people pleaser. She likes to be around people, but does not like to talk much. She is a photography major and a little more weird than the rest of the group. She can be a little more out going depending on the situation.

Rhea- she is an LPN who works a night shift while studying to become a nurse. She is very observant and extremely smart. She loves crime shows as well as supernatural, Grimm, various anime's and just anything quirky. She is the kind of person that can sit down at a movie theater and have the entire movie figured out within the first five minutes and she delights in telling everyone. 

Landon-he is a shorter, cute, Weber State student in his mid 20's. He is just as dorky as the rest of the group, but he thinks he isn't. He is the Hon Solo/Malcolm Reynolds character type.

Deacon-He is not an idiot or surfer kind of guy, even though he says 'Dude' a lot. He is a very enthusiastic dork who loves planes. He is eccentric and can be melodramatic at times. He has love for all things nerd!!

Dreaming of Disney? The company’s theatrical-production wing will hold an open-call audition in Las Vegas this month for male dancers to join the upcoming Broadway and North American touring production of "Newsies."

Auditions for the Tony Award-winning musical, based on the 1992 film of the same name starring a young Christian Bale, are Friday, Jan. 31, at 4 p.m. at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.

The first-come, first-serve event is open to trained Equity and non-Equity male dancers of all ethnicities ages 16 to 22 years old with the ability to tap and sing.

The audition will be overseen by Broadway veteran and “Newsies” Associate Choreographer Lou Castro.

Interested participants should bring a photo and resume, sneakers, tap shoes and knee pads.
