DESERT SPRING THEATRE ARTS is pleased to announce auditions for the Las
Vegas production of the holiday musical “A Christmas Survival Guide”,
written and conceived by Ray Roderick and James Hindman with
arrangements by John Glaudini. Open call auditions will be held Tuesday,
October 21st at Desert Spring United Methodist Church, located at 120
N. Pavilion Center Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89144. This production
is seeking two males, three females who sing, dance, and act. The
production is also seeking an adult male and female narrator.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
• Each performer should be ready to perform 16 bars (approximately 30
seconds - 1 minute) of both a ballad and an up-tempo Pop/Rock song. Be
prepared to sing the entire song if asked and please provide sheet music
for accompanist.
• Sides will be provided at the audition and performers should be prepared to read sides if requested.
• Each performer should bring headshot/résumé if you have one.
• Each performer should know their schedule availability for the
rehearsal and performance period, from October 27 through December 13.
Performances of “A Christmas Survival Guide” are Fridays, December 5
and 12 at 7 pm and Saturdays, December 6 and 13 at 3 pm, 2014.
CAST BREAKDOWN
We are looking for two men and three women who can act, dance and sing. Comedic and heart-warming, ages 14-80.
All should be able to sing around the same ranges/but the tessitura
sits in different place for the different roles, so the vocal quality
should correspond with the vocal part:
Woman 1- Soprano - G3 to G5 (should have a decent mix)
Woman 2- Sop/Alto - Gb3 to E5
Woman 3- Alto - Gb3 to E5
Man 1- Tenor - Bb2 to G4
Man 2- Tenor/Bari - Bb2 to G4 (Sings O Holy Night-so should have a solid G4)
Piano Player - Bari that goes up to a D4
Male and Female Narrator (non-singing, dancing)

traditional songs of the season, this show is designed to de-stress and refresh one and all with holiday cheer!
