ST. GEORGE - Auditions are offered for the second annual Dixie's Got Talent, a regionwide musical celebration highlighting the talents of Washington County residents and Dixie State College students.

Auditions are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 4 and 5 at the Eccles Concert Hall, 100 S. 700 East, on the Dixie State College campus. Vocalists, small groups, private bands, instrumentalists and all musicians are encouraged to audition. Separate classifications for competition include: juniors (up to 14), young adults (15 to 25), and adults/seniors (26 and older). Musicians may perform a cappella, with an accompaniment CD, their own accompaniment or provide a pianist to accompany them.

A panel of judges will determine winning contestants in each category.

Applications are available at all Village Bank locations or online at dixies gottalent.blogspot.com. Completed applications should be mailed along with the $10 application fee to Dixie's Got Talent, c/o The Village Bank, 294 E. Tabernacle St., St. George, Utah 84770, or dropped off at any Village Bank.

The auditions are open to the public.

Selected contestants will then perform before the judging panel and a audience at the Cox Performing Arts Center on Jan. 24. Two finalists in each category will be chosen to compete the following night for grand prize honors.

On the finale night of Dixie's Got Talent, Jan. 25, the six finalists will compete for top honors and major gifts from sponsors. One grand winner will be selected in each age category.
