Seeking—Master of Ceremonies (Emcee): male, 26-40, tenor, the host of the Kit Kat Club, sexual, charismatic, sexually ambiguous, an entertainer, sometimes ghoulish, German accent; Sally Bowles: female, 18-28, alto, the headlining singer and dancer at the Kit Kat Club, British, free-spirited, racy, flirtatious, infectious; Clifford Bradshaw: male, 25-35, baritone, young, sincere American writer who also teaches English lessons; Fraulein Schneider: female, 45-70, alto, a moralistic yet pragmatic landlady, has learned to take whatever life offers, German accent; Herr Schultz: male, 50-70, baritone, a Jewish green grocer, kind, optimistic, reassuring, German accent; Ernst Ludwig: male, 30-45, non-singing, a friendly and likeable German who pays Clifford for English lessons, has a dark side, likes a good party, German accent; Fraulein Kost: female, 21-45, alto/mezzo, a German prostitute living in Fraulein Schneider's house, fun, scared, trying to get by; Kit Kat Club Girls and Boys: males and females, 18+, singer-dancers, doubles as numerous roles throughout the performance, German accent.
