THE GAP

OPEN CASTING CALL

PRODUCED BY: Jason Marty, Chris Henderson, Jessica Pearce

NOT YOUR TYPICAL WEB SERIES:

The Gap is a 13-episode series produced primarily for the web but moving away from the typical five-minute episodes you find with other web serials (each episode runs approx. 20 min. allowing for deeper character development and potential television syndication). It will be distributed on the internet and locally via Comcast On-Demand, with other avenues of distribution currently being explored.

SCHEDULE:

Production will be on-going, beginning in March 2010 with a few rehearsals beginning in mid-January for leads and a couple of supporting roles.

Production will make every effort to accommodate any conflicts and will be respectful of performers’ schedules. Leads will be given all available details about the production/distribution model and the pilot script before being asked to commit to anything.

Filming will take place in and around Salt Lake City.

COMPENSATION:

Copy and credit. For now, this project should be considered non-paying, but they are working to change that. There exists the potential for back-end and up-front compensation, pending negotiations with sponsors, investors, and distributors. Either way, production is expected to move forward.

STORYLINE:

Call it the universe, call it fate, call it their exes; some force is wreaking havoc on Matt and Rachel’s marriage. Faced with unemployment, neurotic friends, and dreams never realized, the couple works to figure out how they got where they are, where they’re going, and whether this relationship is even worth holding onto.

AUDITION DETAILS:

TIME: Monday, December 14th, 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. This is an open call and there is no appointment necessary to audition. They will be seeing Craze talent on a first come first served basis.

LOCATION: Find & Rent – 1035 South 700 East (the yellow building across from Liberty Park), SLC

They may ask you to read for a different part at callbacks, where they will also be reading for some supporting & featured parts.

Right now Production is primarily looking to cast the leads and, subsequently, those characters that fall in the same age range (20’s – mid-30’s)

Additional Roles to be auditioned at a later date!

ROLES AVAILABLE:

LEAD MALE:

MATT (25-35) – Once dreamed of being a professional musician, but now he works in a frozen yogurt shop. Disenchanted with the way his life has turned out and is desperately trying to figure out how to fix it. A genuinely nice guy, but flawed. Carries the show.

STEVEN (25-35) – The consummate loser. Abrasive and annoying, but funny. His life is an utter mess. Lives in his mother’s basement, competes in a variety of video game competitions, and always has a dozen get-rich-quick schemes brewing.

TODD (25-35) – Rachel’s ex-husband, still meddling in her life. If a romantic comedy really had a villain, Todd would be it. Perceptive & cunning. A real low-life. (Prefer tall & muscular)

LEAD FEMALE:

RACHEL (20’s) – Level-headed & logical. Strong. Trying desperately to figure out just what it is she wants out of life. Holds everyone else’s lives together. The dramatic center around which all other story lines pivot.

NICOLE (25-35) – Sweet, but a touch histrionic. A personal trainer (actress must be in good physical shape). Dynamic, smart, sexy, but ultimately selfish. (Huge comedic and emotional range required)
