The Film and Television department of Northwest Nazarene University is holding auditions for a short film intended for national distribution.

MOST ROLES ARE FOR TEENAGE FEMALES WHO CAN PASS FOR 15. Additional roles for a Mother and Teenage Boy.

This is a dramatic film tackling the issue of teenage bullying.

Shooting dates are April 16th (all day) and 18th, 19th, 20th (evenings). Not all roles will need to be on-set every shooting day. The film will be shot in the Nampa area.

Auditions will be held Tuesday, April 5th from 3:00 to 10:00 p.m. in Nampa, Idaho

Roles available are:

KIRSTEN - 15 yo 9th grader. Has a mother, father is unseen. She has a quiet confidence about her. Not the first to answer a question in class, but usually HAS the answer and will raise her hand eventually. Can make a mean dinner for herself and her younger brother when her mom’s working late. Kills at Suduko. Prefers a few strong relationships to being BFFs with everyone in sight.

ALLY - 15yo 9th grader. Class Secretary. Good at English, bad at math. Is on the speech and debate team. Has only missed one class meeting, and will join but not lead a cause, especially where a friend is involved. Will give up homework – or class meetings – to help a friend fix a problem. Everybody wants to be her Facebook friend, and she confirms anyone she knows

BLAIR - 15yo 9th grader. She lives to be in the drama club, and nothing else. Talks ten decibels higher and fifty miles an hour faster than anyone else in the room. Life is a party. Her answer to any problem is to shift attention back to herself, just like her mother. Has a million friends on Facebook and is always looking for more.

CARA - 15 yo 9th grader. From a large family. Thinks about many things, but expresses those thoughts only in small groups to her closest friends. Often knows the answer, but never raises her hand. Plays guitar and flute, but her favorite is the bassoon, all of which she excels at, but will never play a solo. Learned to eat everything on her plate and eat it without complaint, even if she doesn’t like it.

ADAM - 14 yo 8th grader, Kirsten's next door neighbor. They've been friends for several years, but never romantically. He talks little, except to Kirsten and sometimes Cara, on whom he has a "secret" crush. He loves all things mechanical, and does well at math, but PE and TV is as close as he's ever gotten to playing a sport. He'd probably be fine if his mom and dad would quit fighting.

MOM - 30-40, manages a health club. Understands teenagers, can fit into any conversation, but is no-nonsense and takes no prisoners.
