Northwest Savoyards is casting The Mikado, Gilbert & Sullivan's comic operetta about the son of The Mikado of Japan, a wandering minstrel who falls for a girl who is engaged to her guardian.
 
John Edwards, artistic dir. Production runs Mar. 5-21 at Everett Theatre in Everett, WA.

Seeking—
Nanki-Poo: male, 20-25, tenor, son of the Mikado, in love with Yum-Yum, has fled his father's court disguised as a musician because his father wanted him to marry Katisha, LEAD;
 
Yum-Yum: female, 18-22, soprano, beautiful school girl engaged to her guardian, Ko-Ko, LEAD;
 
Katisha: female, 60+, alto, an elderly lady of the imperial court, claims Nanki-Pu flirted with her and therefore should be required to marry her;
 
Ko-Ko: male, 30-50, patter baritone, the comedic Lord High Executioner who doesn't actually enjoy killing people, came to his office through circumstance;
 
Peep-Bo: female, 15-17, soprano, sweet, cute, and peppy younger sister of Yum-Yum;
 
Pish-Tush: male, 50-60, baritone, an officious nobleman who is sympathetic to everyone's dilemnas;
 
Pitti-Sing: female, 20s, mezzo-soprano, Yum-Yum's intelligent and sassy sister;
 
Pooh-Bah: male, 40+, baritone, a conniving, conceited, corrupt, and proud public official;
 
The Mikado: male, 50-60s, bass, the haughty, intimidating, and sadistic Emperor of Japan;
 
Male Chorus: 18+, gentlemen of Japan;
 
Female Chorus :18+, schoolgirls.
