FOX and FreemantleMedia ("America's Got Talent") in conjunction with creator and exec. prod. Simon Cowell ("American Idol") are casting season three of "The X Factor," a reality TV competition series to discover new singing talent and award them a recording contact. The show has no upper age limit and differs from other competition series in that it involves the judges as mentors to guide the talent. In addition to singing, contestants are also judged on appearance, personality, stage presence, and dance routines.

Open auditions will be held at location TBA Mar. 6 in L.A.; Mar. 19 in Charleston, SC; Apr. 14 in New Orleans, LA; Apr. 25 in Long Island, NY & May 14 in Denver, CO. All auditions times start at 8 a.m. Registration is available at venue, two days preceding the audition day.
