Synopsis: We are looking for people who want to work in the movie business and be on a television show to prove they have what it takes to be part of the best movie making team in America . Dream Makers is a new kind of socially interactive, talent contest, reality television show all rolled into one. It is for anyone who thinks they have what it takes to be part of making a great movie. So, if you want the opportunity to be in the movie business and be part of the best cast and crew that an audience will choose, this show is for you.

Contestants will be vying for a key position in a movie company. The main cast on Dream Makers will feature contestants in each of these positions; Director, Cinematographer, Production Designer, Composer plus four Actor categories. Each week the contestants will make a pitch video about how they would apply their craft to a section of a script that will become a full length feature film. Dream Makers shows the development phase of the movie making process. Each contestant will compete for the top spot in their category of choice.

By the end of the season only the best will become part of the team. The rest of the cast and crew will be picked by the directors to build his team. But, the audience will have the final say about who will stay and who will go home and ultimately who gets to be on the best movie making team in America.

Starring Role Categories: Director, Cinematographer, Production Designer, Music Supervisor. Actors

The Director needs to be a great communicator and stupendous story teller. They must be able to engender trust from the actors and the rest of the crew. They are a natural leader and a visionary. They have a fantastic imagination and can clearly explain their thoughts and ideas to cast and crew. If you want to be cast in this category you better be good or at least want to be a director.

The Cinematographer is the bridge between the directors vision and the captured images that will tell the story for everyone to see. They need to understand lights, camera and action and be able to employ these elements in a dynamic symphony to bring an emotional response from the audience. They are the ultimate team player and will listen for input from the creative team and be able to use the best and tactfully dismiss the not so great ideas.

The Production Designer is responsible for the overall look of the movie. They have one of the key creative roles in the creation of the finished film. They will work directly with the director to select the settings and style to visually tell the story. They will be able to share their ideas with the Cinematographer and use his suggestions and provide feedback and illustrations to the team about the way they movie will look on screen.

The Music Supervisor will select the best music to bring out the emotional characteristics of the movie. They will oversee all music related aspects of the movie. The Music Supervisor will work with the director to discuss his vision for the project. They will discuss how the Director expects the music to enhance their vision. The script will be analyzed by the supervisor - a process of choosing where selected music will be inserted. The Music Supervisor will need to be able to demonstrate how scores, or background music, will be employed for enhancing the movie. The FirstCom Music library will be the source for all musical elements in the show.

Every movie needs Actors: Lead Male, Lead Female, Supporting Male, Supporting Female. Which means that the show needs contestants who want to be thespians. As you can see, there are four main spots for this category. If you are an actor or ever wanted to be one this category is for you. You probably already know, but just in case you don’t, the actor (alternatively actress for a female;) is the person who act in a dramatic or comic style in the movie. The most important thing you can do in this position is to trust the director and your fellow players. If you can do this, who knows maybe you will make it on the team.

Co-starring Roles Categories - Key Crew positions: Marketing Director, Set Designer, Costume Designer, Make Up, Editor, Visual Effects and Sound.

Over the course of the show, the director will select who they want to be on their team. These contestants will make a pitch video about their experience, talent, desire, dramatic background etc. The audience will choose who they think are the best. That means each week the director will be interviewing a new crop of potential team members.

Featured Roles Categories:  Additional Cast and Crew positions that will make up the movie making team.

If you audition for the show you have a shot of making the team. There are many positions that make up a movie company’s cast and crew. So, even if you don’t make one of the starring roles in Dream Makers you may still have a chance to work in the business. So, by all means sign up and audition.
