Hello Craze Agency,

My name is Theo Garfield from RSCG a marketing and production agency.

I am hoping your agency will be able to help us as we recently began work on a national $152 million FDA marketing campaign that will include the production of over one hundred new TV ads and web videos.

These national TV spots will target teen subcultures, like hip hop and alternative rock, requiring us to find non-traditional youth talent that will be seen as “real” and authentic. To perfectly define what “real” and authentic looks like, we will doing focus group and survey research nationally with pictures of diverse teens. We want to do this by showing real Facebook/Instagram photos of teens 14-18. We've tried showing professional headshots in past and those failed miserably because youth always respond that "they look fake" or "too cheesy". Thus, we are trying to test real Facebook/Instagram photos of youth to help us select what is perceived to be a “real” looking teen in each targeted subculture.

That’s where we need your help. We need Facebook/Instagram-style pictures of your talent to use in our research to help us determine the perfect look for our forthcoming TV and digital ads.

I've attached samples of the kinds of photos we would need.  Because this is for a federal contract, we must have signed releases for the photos before we used them in research. Here’s how it would work:

1.     Send us as many Facebook/Instagram images of your diverse talent pool

2.     We will select the images we want to use in research (we need over 200)

3.     We will tell you which pictures we want to use and send you the limited release for each of the pictures we want to use. This is an extremely limited release that ONLY authorizes us to use the images in focus groups and surveys.

4. You will receive $40 for every signed release for a picture we have selected. Remember, we need over 200 pictures.

After this research is completed, we will be back in touch with specific casting calls about the ads for the national campaign (which won't happen until later down the road). This could lead to more money and opportunities

We recommend that each teen send 3-5 photos like the samples attached so that one of the images is more likely to be selected.  I know it's weird but the strength of our nationwide campaign will rely on youth being "real".

Here are the specs:
Age: Looks "High School", looks 14-18
Ethnicity:  All/Any  (we need a wide variety of ethnicity for our spots)
Gender:  Male/Female
Demographic: All/Any:  We need equal numbers of photos that are “Hip Hop/Urban,” “Country,” “Preppy,” “Alternative/Skater/Rock/Goth,” “Latin/Reggaeton,” and “Mainstream.”
